The Kessler syndrome

The Kessler syndrome

Of all the man-made satellites in Low Earth Orbit, 95% are space junk: rocket thrusters, derelict satellites, and most of all, tiny fragments of debris from collisions and explosions. All this debris poses a potential threat to the future of space travel if we don't...

    Hi.
I am very fond of the design of space garbage collection systems. It has been more than 17 years since I devised my first network model « The fisherman ». I am currently working (always amateur) with three collection systems for different object sizes (Envisat-Vespa, CubeSat and fragments of paint, fuel or very small screws). I would like to perform capture simulations in ISS with Spheres and Astrobee.
Without a deep knowledge of your system and with my greatest respect and admiration, I consider that the Clear Space 1 prototype has two major problems:
1.- When the tweezers approach the object, the attitude control is not yet controlled, which can lead to important dangerous problems of friction and breakage. (My system integrates networks that move inside the robotic arms, which allow attitude control before the final capture).
2.- I consider that the elimination of objects in the earth’s atmosphere is an obsolete system. GoSun is a waste disposal system in the sun; I am still working hard on this complex and expensive system, but we are moving slowly with great results.
I beg your pardon for my fancy.
Good cheer and Merry Christmas. Sincerely,
    Fernando Gayá.
